SIA Group made a net profit of $374 million for the first nine months of FY2011/12, a decline of 59% over the same period last year.

For the third quarter ending December 2011, the Group achieved a profit of $135 million, a drop of 53% over the corresponding quarter the previous year.

The operating results of the main companies in the Group for the third quarter of FY2011/12 are as follows:

SIA                       -     Profit of $137 million

SIA Engineering   -     Profit of $28 million

SilkAir                   -     Profit of $32 million

SIA Cargo             -     Loss of $40 million

On 13th December 2011, SIASU celebrated Christmas with beneficiaries of the Spastic Children's Association of Singapore. These beneficiaries belong to two groupings in the association, namely, Goodwill, Rehabilitation and Occupation Workshop (GROW) and Day Activity Centre (DAC).

GROW and DAC provide vocational training for beneficiaries who are primarily suffering from Cerebral Palsy or other associated disability conditions. A total of 141 beneficiaries turned out for the Christmas celebration.

The 3-hour long programme kicked off with two dance items contributed by the beneficiaries. Despite their physical disabilities, the performers gave a very hilarious and marvellous performance. A snake charmer and magic show performance by SIASU members brought roars of laughter  and humour to the event.

The celebration is a welfare project organised by SIASU, in conjunction with NTUC's 50th Anniversary Celebration.

We are please to inform you that an agreement between SIASU and SIA Cargo on the Profit Sharing Bonus Formulae is reached on 26th January 2012.

The PSB agreement shall be applicable for FY 2011/2012, FY 2012/2013 & 2013/2014. The PSB shall be payable to eligible staff members no later than 7^th July of each year in which the bonus is based respectively.
