On 13th December 2011, SIASU celebrated Christmas with beneficiaries of the Spastic Children's Association of Singapore. These beneficiaries belong to two groupings in the association, namely, Goodwill, Rehabilitation and Occupation Workshop (GROW) and Day Activity Centre (DAC). GROW and DAC provide vocational training for beneficiaries who are primarily suffering from Cerebral Palsy or other associated disability conditions. A total of 141 beneficiaries turned out for the Christmas celebration. The 3-hour long programme kicked off with two dance items contributed by the beneficiaries. Despite their physical disabilities, the performers gave a very hilarious and marvellous performance. A snake charmer and magic show performance by SIASU members brought roars of laughter and humour to the event. The celebration is a welfare project organised by SIASU, in conjunction with NTUC's 50th Anniversary Celebration. |
