  SIA ENGINEERING COMPANY EMPLOYEES’ COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT 2011

Dear Comrades,

Highlights on the Collective Agreement (CA)

We are pleased to inform you that an agreement between SIASU and SIA Engineering Company on the Collective Agreement is reached on 21st February 2012.

1. Salary Ranges

1.1. The salary ranges for Technicians and Graded Staff are as follows:

1.2 Staff members, whose salaries fall below the new minimum as at 1 January 2012, shall have
their salaries adjusted up on 1 January 2012.

1.3 The commencing salary of a staff member in Grade B or Technician I who has completed at least 2 years of full-time National Service shall be $1,410.

2. Salary Increase on Promotion and Upgrading

2.1 Staff member who is promoted or upgraded to a higher grade shall receive a salary increase as follows:

    (a) Promotion to Grade B or T1 - $70
    (b) Promotion to Grades C, T2, T3, CT1 or CT2 - $130
    (c) Promotion to Grades D, E, T4, T5 or CT3 - $170
    (d) Promotion to CT4 Grade - $180
    (e) Promotion to Administrative Grade - $415

3. Allowance for Hazardous Duty

3.1 Staff members who are eligible for Hazardous Duty Allowance shall be paid as follows:

$95 per month or
$9.50 per normal working day, subject to a maximum of $95 per month

4. Allowance for Stores Approval

4.1 Staff member who is issued with a stores approval by the Company shall be paid an allowance of $210 per month. If the approval is subsequently withdrawn by the Company, the allowance shall cease to be paid from the date of withdrawal.

5. Allowance for Workshop Approvals for Grades T1 to T5

5.1 Eligible staff members in Grades T1 to T5 who are issued with workshop approvals by the Company shall be paid $210 per month for each workshop approval.

5.2 The maximum allowance payable for workshop approvals shall be $1,470 per month

6. Engineering Multi-Trade Incentive Allowance

6.1 Staff members in the engineering grades who are trained and who work on trades other than
their primary trades shall be paid an Engineering Multi‑Trade Incentive allowance on the following
basis:

For staff member with :

(i) 5 years’ service or less - $110 per month
(ii) More than 5 years but less than 8 years’ service - $130 per month
(iii) 8 or more years’ service - $150 per month

The allowance shall cease immediately for employees who at any time, cease to work on the multi-trades scheme.

6.2 For staff members in the general grades, they will receive a one-time salary adjustment of $30 built into salary. For those whose salary is less than $30 below his salary ceiling, they will also receive the full adjustment of $30.

6.3 For staff members in the Technician grades who are not in receipt of a Multi-Trade Incentive Allowance, they will receive a one-time salary adjustment of $30 built into salary. For those whose salary is less than $30 below his salary ceiling, they will also receive the full adjustment of $30.

7. Simulator Allowance

7.1 Senior Technicians, Supervisors and assigned Lead Technicians or Technicians in Flight Simulator Department who are required to perform simulator validity tests shall be paid a simulator allowance of $180 per month.

8. Certifying Technician (CT) Allowance

8.1 Certifying Technicians shall be paid a CT allowance as follows:

One aircraft type: $335
Two aircraft types: $335 + $125
Three aircraft types: $335 + $125 + $125

9. Limited Cabin Maintenance Approval (LCMA) Allowance

9.1 The LCMA allowance is revised to $210 per month.

10. Crane Operator

10.1 Staff members who are required to perform operation of crane shall be eligible for an allowance of $60 per month similar to staff members who drive engine trailers.

11. Medical Treatment, Medicines and Hospitalisation

11.1 To include the following:

    - Khoo Teck Puat Hospital

12. ffective Date of Changes

12.1 The CA term shall be for 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2013. The effective date of all changes in the CA shall be from 1 January 2012, except for item (6) of this agreement, which shall be effective from 1 September 2011 with no effect on the 2011 AWS. As a result, a once off payment of $180 shall be paid to staff members in their March 2012 salary.

The Company and the Union shall commence negotiation for a new Collective Agreement in July 2013.

In conclusion, Union would like to place in record that this CA is meant for every staff member. All staff members including the non- technical grade shall receive a minimum of $30 increase, as an adjustment to their salary or allowance where applicable.
